CHOOSE YOUR TEAM

Each team has a different argument. Pick the one you believe — or the one you want to challenge yourself with.

TEAM SPANISH

Columbus changed the world. That’s what discovery means.

TEAM NATIVE

You can’t discover a place where 60 million people already live.

TEAM NORDIC

Europeans reached America 471 years before Columbus. He wasn’t even first for Europe.

YOUR CHALLENGE

MAKE YOUR CASE

You’re a museum curator. A new exhibition called “WHO DISCOVERED AMERICA?” is opening. You’ve been asked to create one exhibit card — a single panel that visitors will read.

Your card must include:

Your team name
Your answer to the question: Fact or Fiction?
ONE piece of evidence from the series that supports your argument
ONE crack — something that could weaken your argument
A title for your exhibit that would make someone stop and read it

Post your exhibit card on the board below.

Read what other students have written. Do any of them change your mind?

One last time.
The question you were asked in Episode 1.
CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS
DISCOVERED AMERICA

FACT OR FICTION?

WHAT YOU LEARNED

This series was never really about Columbus.

It was about how to think.

How to read a source and ask: who wrote this, and why?

How to look at evidence and ask: what’s missing?

How to hear a claim and ask: says who?

These are the skills that matter — not just in history, but everywhere.

FACT OR FICTION ISN’T ALWAYS
THE RIGHT QUESTION.
SOMETIMES THE RIGHT QUESTION IS:
WHO DECIDED?
